IT Business Systems Analyst

Reporting to the Director IT Services and Business Systems, the Business Systems Analyst will plan and launch efficient business, financial, and operations information systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. This individual will validate, verify, communicate, and resolve systems/software application issues through careful testing. In this role you will work alongside functional subject matter experts as the IT Business Systems lead during User Acceptance testing through the validation of in-house developed ERP applications and other in-house proprietary information system initiative launches.

  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, compliance, regulatory, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes; leveraging of existing systems; generation or RFPs and/or enabling information process flow.
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in information systems across the organization.
  • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to application programmers.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support. Produce reports and documentation for all testing efforts, results, activities, data, logging, and tracking.
  • Identify, recommend, develop and implement end user training programs to increase computer literacy and self-sufficiency including development of help sheets, usage guides and FAQs for end-users.

Knowledge & Experience
  • Completion of a University degree in business administration, computer science, or management information systems and 7+ years related work experience.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the analysis of functional requirements, custom application development, and implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009/2012 R2/R3 OR 365 ERP software (required) and Logility Halo BI reporting systems (desired). Preference will be given to candidates with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 experience.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Proven experience in the operation and analysis of SQL database software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies.
  • Experience in a consumer case goods focused business and/or an Ecommerce-enabled business is desired.

Work Conditions
  • This role is based out of our New Hamburg office.
  • Some travel may be required for internal, conference, customer, partner, and vendor meetings. Overnight domestic travel (within Canada & US) as well as occasional overseas travel may be required.
